Everyone in the system is being forced to work harder for less money and to do more with few resources except Dr. Wardynski.

Dr. Wardynski clearly understands the value of transitional support. He clearly understands how important it is to have help when adjusting to new surroundings. He clearly plans to keep that support for himself. Our schools, sir, are still understaffed. Our teachers, sir, are still underpaid and overworked. Our students, sir, do not have the resources they need to achieve excellence. Our IEPs, sir, are still not being met.

Contact your child’s teachers and principal. Ask for how many kids are in your child’s classroom/resource room. Ask how many teachers and aides that room has.

Assuming that the Hearing Impaired and Visually Impaired teachers do not have their own classrooms, there should be 167 Special Education teacher who do. 167 classrooms and 126 aides. This means that we potentially have 41 special needs classrooms in our system with only one adult in the room. One.

Classrooms are still not sufficiently staffed. We can and should do better. If we can be competitive on a national level in hiring a new CFO, we can and should be able to afford an extra $20,000 for two additional aides for this classroom.
