PUT STUDENTS FIRST!
I really don’t know how to say it any clearer.
I woke up this morning actually hopeful. I was looking at the Huntsville City Schools website last night (yes, I’m that boring), and I noticed two things:
They’ve posted a few additional special education positions on the Employment Link.
The Board is having a special meeting o [...]
Parents Should Not Be Afraid To Send ...
On Monday, August 8, 2011, the children of Huntsville will report to school for the beginning of a new year. Last year, I had tears in my eyes as my daughter started First Grade and the boy began Kindergarten. It was a rough day emotionally; all those transitions are. But it isn’t going to hold a candle to what we’re facing five [...]
Wardynski “Doesn’t Know...
At a stop on his “listening tour” (a part of his 60 Day Entry Plan) yesterday at 10:00am, I was able to ask Dr. Wardynski one direct question. I asked, “Dr. Wardynski, is the school system going to be in a place to meet the requirements of IEPs on August 8th?”

Last night, the Huntsville City School Board and Dr. Wardynski told me, by ignoring me, that I need to be patient. By not including the special needs segregation plan on the agenda, they told me, again, that I would have to wait.
On March 17th, I was told by this board and Dr. Moore that the “rumor” that Special Needs kids were g [...]
The Superintendent and the Board to P...
As is my custom of late, I attended the board meeting tonight. I truly hate to write this, but it was a waste of an hour of my life. However no one ever said that accountability was easy. I will therefore continue to attend these meetings and raise questions. Maybe they will occasionally, mistakenly, answer them.
The board, under the directi [...]
Email: RIF Cuts Applied Unfairly to S...
[Ed. Note: This is an email that I sent to Dr. Wardynski and the Board on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:17:17 PM CDT. I have received no response concerning any of the issues I have raised. I shared many of these same concerns at the board meeting on July 21, 2011. I, again, received no response to any of these concerns.]
