Huntsville City School Board Meeting Tonight at 5:30pm

HCSBoard Seal

The regularly scheduled board meeting will be held tonight at 5:30pm. This meeting, however, will not be held at the Merts building downtown. It will instead be held in the Whitesburg Middle School lunch room at 107 Sanders Road.

The agenda for this meeting has changed often over the past two days, but here’s a copy of the latest version. The agenda includes a discussion of the Title I Continuous Improvement Plans (which I’m certain will also include at least one or two plugs for Teach for America as the Superintendent continues to push his agenda of replacing certified teachers in our system), an agreement with the SUPES Academy, Inc. to provide professional development for principals, another discussion of the Superintendent Goals, and according to the Huntsville Times, a proposal to dismiss Cleavon Eason from the system despite his acquittal of sexual abuse charges yesterday.

In other words, it sounds like an interesting meeting.

If the Superintendent Goals discussion takes more than about 5 minutes tonight, the board will have spent more time discussing Dr. Wardynski’s bonus than they spent discussing the 2012 budget.

Have they learned nothing?

I will be in attendance. As always, the meeting will be broadcast on ETV (Comcast 17, Knology 99), and at the Huntsville City Schools website. I will also be live-tweeting the meeting @russwinn. You can follow on Twitter or on the Geek Palaver Facebook Page.
